Tom Sink, "Popcorn the Clown," was a welcoming presence at the circus. He, by chance, he was the first person I met who was a performer, in amanner, taking me under his wing. There were the natural rules everyone understood, then the unwritten ones, well known to Tom, then passed down to me.
