From Wikipedia: John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed (1774-1845), was a pioneer nurseryman, becoming an American icon while still alive. He was known for his kind, generous ways, his leadership in conservation, and the symbolic importance that he attributed to apples. The State Scenic Highway stretches for over 30 miles along State Route 39 between Loudonville and Mansfield and State Route 603 between the Village of Mifflin and Malabar Farm.
