There is a personal history to be considered by each of these plate owners, one of responsibility, a sense of purpose, and a shared joy for the world to see. The Lockheed C-130A Hercules, I believe referred to on this license plate, first flew in 1954; the J model, the most recent, has served in wars from Vietnam to Afghanistan. The CC on this proud veteran’s plate, most assuredly, is for "Crew Chief." It would be their responsibility to properly maintain their aircraft for flight. During my time in the USAF, and I believe today, the crew chief’s name is painted on their aircraft under that of the pilots.
