Military ID (A work in progress.)

There is a personal history to be considered by each of these plate owners, one of responsibility, a sense of purpose, and a shared joy for the world to see. The Lockheed C-130A Hercules first flew in 1954; the J model, the most recent, serving in wars from Vietnam to Afghanistan. I believe the CC on this proud veteran’s plate is for "Crew Chief." It would be their responsibility to properly maintain their aircraft for flight. During my time in the USAF, and I believe today, the crew chief’s name is painted on their aircraft, right under that of the pilots.
