Military ID (A work in progress.)

There are currently nine missile squadrons active in the United States, all equipped to operate intercontinental ballistic missiles. ICBMs are land-based, nuclear-armed ballistic missiles with a range of more than 3,500 miles. Only the United States, Russia, and China (and it is believed North Korea) field land-based missiles of this range. The first ICBMs were deployed by the Soviet Union in 1958; the United States followed the next year, with China some twenty years later. The current generation of Minuteman III missiles are deployed in North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Montana, and Nebraska. The cost of each is approximately $33.5 million.
