Military ID (A work in progress.)

At an earlier time in their lives, many veterans assumed a new identity. It became who they were. Later, for the fortunate, it remains, always a part of them, sometimes rendered as a simple message shared on a vehicle license tag. Today, we hear about Seal Team Six, but five decades ago, and today, it was the Green Berets. Known by their distinctive headgear, they are officially known as the US Army Special Forces, an elite unit specializing in unconventional warfare, counter terrorism and special reconnaissance, often working closely with foreign forces. The three colored emblems on this veteran's license represent the National Defense, Vietnam Service and Unit Commendation Metals.
