The Shelby Castamba mural is based on a picture taken in front of the Castamba Theater in 1935. Specific elements of the mural depict that era, including the locally made Shelby Company light bulb, called the Centennial Bulb. That bulb has been burning (giving off a whopping 4 watts of power) inside a Livermore, California fire station since 1901. It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's oldest known operating light bulb. The mural's artists, referred to as 2Morrows, after lead artist Joel Morrow and assistant artist Wendy Morrow, were assisted by Michael Pritchard, an OSU-Mansfield Student Intern. The theater ceased operation in the early 1960s.
