In proper journalism, assumptions are never a good thing, but how about this proper guess? Seen in Dayton, Ohio, might this license plate belong to a proud United States Air Force Academy Class of 1970 graduate? Candidates for the academy must possess a high academic record, be able to meet rigid physical demands and exhibit high moral standards. Things unique to the USAFA include their “Mustache March,” where during the month of March every airman grows a mustache honoring USAF legend Brigadier General Robin Olds. The general was famous for flaunting regulations, growing an out-sized mustache, far beyond what was permitted within the military. Another of the academy’s traditions is the “roof stomp,” where airmen welcome a new commander, some by climbing up on the roof of the commander’s home and raising hell, while others bang on his home's windows and doors. The USAFA is renowned for its strict adherence to the Cadet Honor Code, which states that “a cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do.”
