Military ID (A work in progress.)

Where to begin, maybe with my own long-ago USAF history, when this would have been FIGMO. In a polite manner, FIGMO means “Forget It, Got My Orders," but known today by some of the older veterans (with a chuckle, even a belly laugh) - when dropping in the F-bomb. In my further research, I found this in the “urban DICTIONARY:” FYIGMO adj. • pronounced FIG-moe • Acronym for: F*** You, I've Got My Orders. In military culture, when an individual is being transferred or his/her tour of duty is close to completion, a person may demonstrate some level of apathy and/or defiance, since their behavior is less likely to bring consequences. Other common military terms were "Snafu," Situation normal, all f****ed up, and "Fubar," F****ed up beyond all recognition. Ken photographed this license plate in 2026, a big grin on his face, when stopped at a red light on US Route 1 near Connecticut's Naval Submarine Base New London.
